The visualization of basic shapes of organic molecules
Andrlíková, Věra ; Teplá, Milada (advisor) ; Janoušková, Svatava (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on teaching using visualization of shapes of molecules in organic chemistry in contexts with orbitals at grammar schools. The theoretical part explores the classification of the topic in the Czech Framework Education Programme as well as in selected grammar school curricula. Within the content of the visualization, the emphasis is placed on molecules of alkanes, alkenes and alkynes, bonds (single, double and triple bonds) and the association with molecular orbitals and hybridization. The theoretical part also dedicates to a set of criteria for analysis of didactic materials. The practical part devotes to evaluation of selected didactic materials (textbooks, mobile applications for smartphones, websites and videos). The analysis was based on criteria given in the theoretical part. The practical part deals more deeply with the practical processing of lesson which devotes to the topic of shapes of molecules and bonds. The visualisation of molecules plays a key role in the proposed lesson plan.
